BADMAN RADIO #9 with special guest CHAM on BigUpRadio.com

Dancehall reggae powerhouse CHAM (formally Baby Cham) stops by the BADMAN RADIO show this Saturday on Bigupradio.com. BADMAN RADIO is hosted by DJ TRASHA “Tha Booty Shaker.” Cham has been blowing up hot dancehall tracks since the late 90’s. His latest smash hits include “What U Think The Police Can Do,” “Possess (Silver Screen Riddim),” and let’s not forget the bombshell “Ghetto Story (Eighty Five Riddim)” Do not miss this exclusive interview and feature with CHAM!! ONE LOVE

Cham – Vitamin S
Cham - Vitamin S

About CHAM:

There are a million stories in the ghetto. And yet there’s only one “Ghetto Story.” And like the song says, it’s a survival story.

In Jamaica’s ultra-competitive music scene, stars are born every day and fade away just as fast. But ever since the mid 1990s, Baby Cham has represented the best of cutting-edge dancehall reggae. His every release seems to bring forth new sounds, new slang, and up-to-the minute ghetto news reports guaranteed to “bust the dance.” Spelled with a C (like champagne), Cham should not be confused with any Flipmode Squad affiliate, although he has been known to bust a rhyme from time to time. With his athletic good looks, his booming baritone voice, and a catalog of hits that won’t quit, Cham has managed to stay ahead of the times for longer than any other DJ in the game. And with the release of his long-awaited album Ghetto Story, Cham’s poised to take dancehall to another level all over again.

About Tippa Irie
Anthony Henry – a.k.a. “Tippa Irie” - emerged from England’s Saxon Sound International – the star-studded travelling sound system that has been at the forefront of the U.K. reggae dancehall scene for the past 25 years and helped launch the careers of artists such as Maxi Priest, Papa Levi and Smiley Culture. Tippa Irie was part of the new generation of British MC’s who developed the ‘Fast Talking’ style chat which today can be heard in modern day rappers like Busta Rhymes. Tippa toured extensively with his friend and long-time sparring partner, Pato Banton, throughout the Eighties including an appearance at Jamaica’s Reggae Sunsplash and their U.S. debut tours together. The U.K. DJ duo of Tippa Irie and Pato Banton had become one of the genres favorite combinations. As the Nineties began, the dynamic duo pursued their solo careers. Over a decade would pass before Tippa & Pato would reunite in the studio with legendary singing sensation Peter Spence to produce “The Good Old Days”–a track featured on Pato’s 2000 Grammy-nominated ‘Life is a Miracle’ and Tippa’s “I Miss” tribute album to his late and great sister/MC Miss Irie.

Shaggy and Akon Make Sweet Music

Filed under: Uncategorized — bigupradio @ 6:03 pm

NEW YORK, NY (RHONA FOX, INC.) – Shaggy’s Intoxication blasted onto the Billboard Reggae Chart at #1 when it hit shelves in November, and now it’s heating up as he teams up with hip-hop mastermind Akon on his next single. The two swapped sound booths for studios at the recent video shoot in Miami’s famed South Beach.

Shaggy unleashes all the elements his fans expect on “What’s Love” – a proven and familiar formula that sees his macho hardcore chatting, fused with Akon’s flowing R&B hooks, riding a catchy hip-hop beat.

Shaggy hauled in the genius of Hype Williams to bring this track to life, and it will hit airwaves within the next few weeks. It will then have to battle the “Bonafide Girl” video, his second single from Intoxication featuring Rik Rok, which has been getting non-stop play ever since its release.

So what’s next for the platinum pop star? Shaggy is taking Intoxication, and well most of the Big Yard crew, for shows and promotion across Europe in the upcoming months. But if you are in the Caribbean or plan on heading there soon, a good time would be March 17 when Shaggy hits the beaches in Negril, Jamaica for Spring Break.
