Anna Fisher Receives Two Nominations for the 2nd Annual Joe Higgs Music Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA – Molin Music Recording Artist Anna Fisher has been nominated in two categories for the 2nd Annual Joe Higgs Music Awards to be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Simmons College at 8 pm. Voted top five in both Instrumental and International Artists, Ms. Fisher proudly accepted the International Artist Award in December 2006 at the First Annual Joe Higgs Music Awards at Florida International University in Fort Lauderdale.

She feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have worked with one of the greatest musical artists in history and was honored when Third World Band asked her to perform Higgs’ anthem, “There’s A Reward” on their last album, “Black Gold Green” nominated for a Grammy Award for Reggae Album of the year.  Born and raised Nancy Fish in Concord, Massachusetts, Ms. Fisher graduated Concord-Carlisle Regional High School in 1977. She was a student at New England Conservatory Preparatory Division where she studied oboe with Ira Deutsch of the Boston Symphony and Boston Ballet Orchestras as well as Boston University School of Music with John Holmes also of the Boston Symphony. She attained a Bachelor of Music in Oboe and English horn performance at North Carolina School of the Arts, a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from National University and is completing her Educational Administration Credential at National now. She is working on her next album in Los Angeles where she resides. Taking the oboe and English horn outside the usual classical realm, Anna anchors the music in new waterways namely Reggae, Jazz, R&B and Pop styles. The event is a salute to Joe Higgs, the man and his music and those who carry on his legacy. In addition to the two nominations, she is also one of the scheduled performers for the event.
